Angila Water Treatment Plant - Corton
Apex Scaffolding provided access solutions for Bell Formwork to enable construction of a new settlement tank, the project had complex access hazards to overcome to allow safe working access for the contractor to complete their construction of the settlement tank.
We were able to achieve this by having site visits, prestart meetings and discussions with the client to archive a safe cost affective scaffold solution that meet all there needs. The 1st item of scaffold to be erected was a 6m beamed independent walkway over a deep excavation, erected with 450mm deep aluminium lattice beams fully boarded, complete with access stairs to the centre of the settlement tank hopper. Additional edge protection erected off tubular butts about the perimeter of the hopper to provide fall protection once the excavation was backed filled.
Once the settlement tank had been formed, we were instructed to erect a system staircase to the side of the settlement tank with an access to a maintenance hatch further access was provided down to the bottom of the tank via means of a ladder.
Apex completed all access solution meeting all time scales and to budget with no environment issues.
